How is Your Driving Record Used?
If you’re ordering your driving record, chances are that you’re using it for one of two reasons:
- You want to check the record to ensure that the information contained within is correct.
- You want to know where you stand because you expect someone else to check your driving record soon.
You’re not the only one who could potentially be checking your driving
record. The New Jersey MVC will use this record to determine the points
you’ve accumulated. If you have too many points, you could lose your
license or have to pay fines. Of course, insurance companies can also
use your driving report to determine your rates, although they have
their own points system used to set your rates and determine if you are
qualified. You might also be given a New Jersey auto insurance discount
if you have a clean driving record.
Employers can also use your driving report. If you’ll be required to
drive as part of your job, your driving record will be super important
to your employer. They don’t want an employee with a poor history of
driving, so if you have a number of tickets or even accidents on your
report, you could be in trouble.
