Differences between DUI and DWI
A New Jersey DUI and a New Jersey DWI are the same things. DUI
stands for driving under the influence while DWI stands for driving
while intoxicated. Some states differentiate between the two, but New
Jersey does not. Usually, the term “New Jersey DUI” is used, but
“intoxicated” implies that you feel drunk and that you’ve been using
alcohol. You can get a New Jersey DUI charge, though, even if don’t
feel drunk or if you are using drugs, not alcohol.
