New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission

In New Jersey, the Motor Vehicle Commission, or MVC, helps to regulate drivers and roads in this state. New Jersey has some of the most popular and well-used interstates in the nation, as this state is home to many New York City commuters. The New Jersey MVC helps to keep all of these commuters and other drivers safe and legal.

 

New Jersey MVC History

The New Jersey MVC was officially created in 2003. Prior to this, the government controlled the state’s roads and drivers with the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). As part of a state-wide government restructuring effort, the MVC was created with the Motor Vehicle Security and Customer Service Act.
